CLR #77

Martin Luther King, Jr., 1960. We've come a long way.

1 - "No Warning Given" - Wire. Post-punk masters still hanging around.
2 - "Time To Pretend" - MGMT. Their album cover looks like something out of Lord of the Flies.
3 - "Our Haunt" - Palomar
4 - "Is There a Ghost" - Band of Horses
5 - "I Am A Lightning Rod" - Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos. Indy's finest back in the studio.
6 - "My Friend the Sleepwalker (The Cowbell Song) - AM Syndicate. I got a fever, and the only thing that will cure it is more cowbell.
7 - "I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You" - Black Kids. Try to sit still during this one.
8 - "Archangel" - Burial. Spookiest music of the year.
9 - "MLK" - U2.
10 - "Push It" - The Rosebuds covering Salt n Pepa. Ummm....

CLR #76

Believe the hype in 2008!

CLR makes no formal endorsements, but you know Barack is the only candidate that would be down with us.

1 - "New Years" - Asobi Seksu. A reminder that asobi seksu means playful sex in Japanese.
2 - "Radio Ladio" - Metronomy. Say that five times fast.
3 - "Thou Shalt Always Kill" - Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip. Def Leppard, was just a band...
4 - "Kingdom" - Dave Gahan. He's got way less out of his Behind the Music OD story than Nikki Sixx did.
5 - "Anemones" - Half Acre Day. Is that a drug reference?
6 - "I'm Taking the Train Home" - The Twilight Sad. Band I'm pissed I missed in '07.
7 - "Leaving" - Dirty on Purpose. For such a dirty name, they sure sound wonderful.
8 - "Northwestern Girls" - Say Hi. Formerly Say Hi To Your Mom.
9 - "Clampdown" - The National covering The Clash
