CLR #60

Imageless, thanks to Blogger meltdown.

1 - "The Summer Song" - YACHT. It is summer, do I need any other excuse?
2 - "We Throw Parties, You Throw Knives" - Los Campesinos! Wales is in the house!
3 - "Running Away" - The Polyphonic Spree. I'm still trying to figure out what a polyphonic spree is.
4 - "Set the Woods On Fire" - Art in Manila. No Imelda Marcos jokes, please.
5 - "Bouncing Off Clouds" - Tori Amos. An apt title for a song by a woman who's always seemed a little nutty.
6 - "New Dark Ages" - Bad Religion. Solid, dependable.
7 - "War of the Worlds" - My Vitriol. I need a little more vitriol, I've decided.
8 - "Intelligentactile 101" - Jesca Hoop. Tongue -tying DJs everywhere.
9 - "Surrender" - Paw. Take that, Cheap Trick!

CLR #59

1 - "Holiday Road" - Lindsey Buckingham. Required listening for all summer trips across the Midwest.
2 - "The Night Starts Here" - Stars. Amy Milan et. al. return with some more good music.
3 - "The World Is Outside" - Ghosts. A new Brit band that sounds an awful lot like Delays. Which isn't a bad thing.
4 - "Pick Up The Phone" - The Notwist.
5 - "The End of the World" - Ash. Ireland's indie finest.
6 - "The Money Maker" - Rilo Kiley. Jenny Lewis and friends sounding very naughty.
7 - "Overture" - Patrick Wolf. Amazing track. Jumped into my favorites of the year.
8 - "I Summon You" - The Watson Twins. Jenny Lewis' old chums covering Spoon.

CLR #58

1 - "She's In Love" - Fourth of July. A nifty little band from my favorite city, Lawrence, KS.
2 - "I Will Survive" - Art Brut. Our favorite artsy Brits have returned, and they still have their sense of irony.
3 - "Your Love Alone Is Not Enough" - Manic Street Preachers. Nice new song from the Manics, featuring Nina Persson of The Cardigans.
4 - "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next" - Manic Street Preachers. A bonus track! The Manics' greatest song, a glorious anti-war anthem.
5 - "My Secret Is My Silence" - Roddy Woomble. Idlewild lead singer goes way out to left field in his first solo effort.
6 - "Ooh La" - The Kooks. More happy pop from those kooky Kooks.
7 - "Ice Station" - The Race. Pretty hot for a song about ice.
8 - "Stare Me Out" - Crowded House. Neil Finn and his mates return, sounding great despite the 14 years off.
9 - "Working Class Hero" - Green Day. Recorded on American Idol, covering John Lennon for Darfur relief.
