CLR #54

1 - "Coma Girl" - Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros. I believe I failed to give the band proper credit on the podcast. From the former Clash lead singer's posthumous disk, released in 2003.

2 - "Don't Give Up" - The Noisettes. I keep thinking of the Peter Gabriel - Kate Bush duet when I see the title. This is anything but a remake of that.

3 - "High Times" - Elliott Smith. More proof his tragic end denied us much more great music.

4 - "Advice For Young Mothers To Be" - The Veils. Long title, good song.

5 - "Hey Children" - Lab Partners. Raise your hand if you ever had a crush on your lab partner.

6 - "Black Thumbnail" - Kings of Leon. I think it's a disservice to label them as Southern Rock. This isn't a .38 Special for the new millennium.

7 - "I Am the Unknown" - The Aliens. Wow.

8 - "Don't Let Me Down" - Stereophonics. Slightly better than when Meghan and I try to cover Lennon, et. al.

CLR#53

1 - "Rock and Roll High School" - The Ramones. School is out for summer, school is out forever!
2 - "Cemetary Lawns" - The Rosebuds. An unexpected but pleasant departure from their last album.
3 - "Always Fade" - Low. Only decent song I've found off their new album.
4 - "Icky Thump" - The White Stripes. Brilliant, as always.
5 - "Up Against the Wall" - Peter Bjorn and John. Another outstanding entry from the Scadinavian indie-rock scene.
6 - "Brainstorm" - Arctic Monkeys. Liking them more than I did on their first album.
7 - "Hospital Rooms Aren't For Lovers" - Bear Colony. Wonderful.
8 - "Horizon" - The Bats. Missed this when it came out last year, but very nice. High five!
9 - "School" - Paw. Turn it up loud.
10 - "The One I Love" - Rosie Thomas w/Sufjan Stevens. Terrific cover.
