CLR XMS #44

A few songs leftover from 2006 and a few outstanding, spankin' new songs to kick off 2007.

- "Intervention" - The Arcade Fire. A very early candidate for best song of '07.
- "You Could Have Both" - The Long Blondes. How on earth did I miss this last fall? A little Human League-ish in the central break. Some fantastic lyrics throughout.
- "Empty Chair" - Dear Leader. One of several "Unforgettable Fire"-ish tracks on their new CD.
- "Dashboard" - Modest Mouse. An excellent early track off their up-coming disk. Johnny Marr rears his genius head.
- "There Goes My Outfit" - The Dears. The Arcade Fire isn't the only great band coming from north of the border. This one is stuck in my head.
- "Herculean" - The Good, The Bad & The Queen. Released for one day in October, this was an early single off the UK super-group's new album. Members of Blur, The Clash, and The Verve coming together to make music for the new millennium.
- "Casual Use" - The Shortwave Set. CLR is for casual use, only.
- "Say It Loud (I'm Black and I'm Proud)" - James Brown. Farewell to the Godfather.
